  Buy the Book
Few could believe just how much money has been raised so far this year from the English book club in La Siesta. They have already put 600€ towards The Rascals’ ‘Music, Rhythm and Rhyme’ concert, which will take place at the Virgen del Carmen cultural centre in Torrevieja on May 31st, which should go on to raise even more from ticket sales. On Tuesday the rest of the proceeds were presented to Angie Keay and Rarfe Chambers of Age Concern in the form of a cheque and a bag laden with change adding up to a whopping 2000€.

Elite Golf Society - 21st April La Finca Golf Club
Saturday was our monthly medal day and the course was in very good condition with ideal weather for golf.  We had an overcast day with slight winds.  Considering the conditions the scoring was not as low as expected.  However, some good scores were returned with the top places only separated by one or two shots.

  Jalon Valley Golf Society
16 April - We played a “modified 3 ball stableford competition” at Don Cayo Golf Course.with only the top two scores on each hole counting. The winners with a total of 75 points were Paul Darragh, Phil Cleaver & John Mayers. The winning individual prize went to the really in form Paul “perfect stance” Darragh, with a score of 41 points. The handicap secretary has his pen poised!!  Wednesday 18th April at Don Cayo Golf Course. What a glorious sunny day, summer here at last & Don Cayo in excellent condition.  We had a good turnout and played a closely fought 3 ball Texas scramble. It went down to the wire with only 2 points separating the top 4 teams. In first place was the formidable trio of Alan Denbina, Tony Stainer & Stuart Taylor with a score of 58 points. Could it be the following 2 incidents that clinched it for this team??

Greenlands take first “Greengauge” Premier 20
The final of the first Premier 20 knockout competition was every bit as exciting as the semi finals which saw the two teams go through. The format of two teams of 10 players from each club playing home and away at the same time meant that the mobiles were buzzing with updates on the standings at each green.
