The setting more resembled a typical rugby match on a Sunday afternoon in the British Isles; overcast, chilly and muddy. Instead it was Elche and the continuing bad weather had not yet relented, but the home team were getting stuck into Tatami, tough opposition from Valencia. |

Before coming to Spain, Maureen Hewitson had held charity tennis tournaments in the UK. This being Breast Cancer Awareness Week, she decided to organise a similar, mixed doubles tournament at her club in Spain, the Montepiedra sports club. |

Torrevieja Golf Society El Plantio 8 October
The Society had a very nice day in fine, sunny weather; unfortunately the course was not in the condition it usually is. There must have been torrential rain at some time earlier, for none of the bunkers were in play and the greens were quite bumpy. |
