  Swan Lake Runs Dry
Hundreds of ballet lovers were literally left out in the cold this week when they turned up to attend the performances of Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty at Torrevieja’s Municipal theatre on Thursday and Friday nights.

International Jazz Pianist for Costa dates
On the current UK jazz scene there are many famous sons of famous proud fathers:Alec and John Dankworth, Alan and Jimmy Skidmore, Clark and Stan Tracey, and many others. Among the rest - and equally talented - is pianist Tim Best, son of poll-topping vibraphone-player Lennie Best.

  Calling All Costaleros
Calling all members of the International Cofradia. Yes it is time to start thinking about next year’s Easter parades already and I know we have not enjoyed the Christmas festivities yet! As an introduction to our work for next year there will be a meeting at the Semana Santa museum in Torrevieja on Thursday 23rd November at 7.30pm for 8.00pm.

  ‘Flamenco Fuego’
Fireworks were proved superfluous this year on November 5 for those of us at the Capitol Teatro in Rojales, when the dancers who make up Raquel Peña’s Ballet Español scorched down the theatre’s aisles, flew up the red stairs onto the stage and with a triumphant whirling of shawls and drumming of feet, gripped the attention of the capacity audience with their opening fiery Flamenco number.

  The Gilbert and Sullivan Society
For the second year running, our Society has been invited to perform a concert at the Casa de Cultura, Guardamar del Segura, as part of the week long celebrations in honour of the Patron Saint of music and musicians - St. Cecelia. The concert takes place on Wednesday 15th November 20056, curtain up at 20.00 hours. There is no entry charge or tickets to this concert, so, why not turn up at the Theatre and enjoy a feast of good music and singing. As this Theatre has only 400 seats, only the first 400 people will gain admission. On Saturday 16th December 2006, in the Function Room, Camping International, La Marina, we shall be presenting a Christmas Concert. This Concert will contain a fabulous festival of Carols, Music and Stories. The Concert will commence at 6pm. There is no entry charge. We are supporting the charity “ASPANION” The Association of Parents of Children with Cancer. A collection will be made and you are asked to be generous with your donations. A second Christmas Concert is planned, but date and venue have yet to be confirmed. In March 2007, the Society will be presenting a fully costumed version of ‘The Mikado.’
