  European Cultural week
The idea of an annual ‘European Cultural Week’ came about last year as a joint initiative by the Town Hall department of the ‘Oficina de Atención al Residente Internacional’ and the municipal cultural institute ‘Joaquin Chapaprieta’ with a view to offering a taste of the culture of distinct European nationalities which represent cosmopolitan Torrevieja. The international languages of music and dance are able to break through any communication barriers so that the concerts during the week can be enjoyed and appreciated by all. At the same time, an opportunity is presented to support a local worthy cause, this time the ‘Cofradia Internacional’, through which, and for the first time ever, Torrevieja’s international community will be able to actively participate in the forthcoming spectacular Easter Week processions.
