The Thermal Springs of Fortuna – A Wonder of the World?
When we peruse and discuss the ancient seven wonders of the world, such as the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Great Pyramid of Giza or even, the Statue of Zeus; upon examination, they are all man made features. Please do not misunderstand me, as I do not wish to hinder their reputations nor dismiss them, for they truly are magnificent; however; my question is thus; what about the natural wonders of the world, surely they deserve such status and credibility?

The Charm and History of Guadalest
Located on the northern edge of the Marina Baixa district of the Alicante province, around 25 kilometres north of Benidorm, is the charming and historical village of Guadalest. Perched on a mountain, some 595 metres above sea-level, the houses and Castell (castle) of Guadalest overlook a wide valley which is bordered by the mountains (sierras) of Aitana, Serrella and Xorta. At the base of the valley is the Guadalest river and the stunning, turquoise coloured Embalse de Guadalest reservoir.

  The Peñon de Ifach
Possibly the best known and most photographed landmark of the Costa Blanca region, is the towering rock in the Bay of Calpe, known as the Peñon de Ifach. The result of a landslide from the nearby Sierra de Olta, this 1 km long mass of calcareous rock rises vertically from the sea to a height of 332 metres. Joined to the mainland by a narrow isthmus, the Peñon de Ifach stands guard over the town of Calpe like a protective mother.

  Val de Galinera
The beautiful Galinera Valley (Val de Galinera) is located in the Marina Alta region of the northern Costa Blanca, Spain, about 50 kilometres north of Benidorm just inland from Gandia, Olivia and Denia. It is populated by a number of very small, picturesque villages, the main one being Planes, the others including Alcala, Alpatró, Benimarra, Benialí, Benissiva, Benitaia, Benissili, Llombai and La Carroja.

Lo Pagan – Mud Glorious Mud
Mud glorious mud, surely we can’t be talking about Spain? Indeed we are and the place to find all this lovely mud is called Lo Pagan.
